Every applicant signs the Human Authorship Declaration as part of the Maker Verified application. The declaration confirms the applicant’s creative role, disclosures and continuing responsibility to meet the published standard.
The Human Authorship Declaration is the applicant’s signed factual statement about their creative process and working practices.
It is reviewed together with the application, verification interview and any supporting information requested during review.
The declaration is a continuing commitment. Applicants agree to notify Maker Verified when a material change may affect certification eligibility.

I affirm that meaningful human authorship, judgment, skill, and creative control remain central to the development and production of my work.
I affirm that I do not use artificial intelligence to generate the original ideas, concepts, designs, imagery, writing, or other defining creative elements of my work, or to replace the human creative decisions that determine its final form.
I understand that artificial intelligence may be used only for permitted non-creative purposes, such as administrative tasks, website support, scheduling, research assistance, or other business functions that do not contribute creative content to the work.
I affirm that I have accurately disclosed any use of artificial intelligence, automation, outside production, collaborators, contractors, or other tools and services that are relevant to my creative process.
I understand that Maker Verified certification applies to my disclosed creative process and working practices. It does not certify, authenticate, inspect, approve, or guarantee any individual artwork, product, edition, collection, or other creative work.
I agree to comply with the Maker Verified Standards throughout my certification period and to promptly notify Maker Verified if my creative process or working practices materially change in a way that may affect my eligibility for certification.
I understand that failure to comply with the Maker Verified Standards, failure to disclose a material change, or providing materially inaccurate or misleading information may result in the suspension or revocation of my certification.
By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to this Human Authorship Declaration.
Applicants enter their full legal name and provide an electronic signature as part of the certification application.
The declaration does not replace the application or interview. It becomes part of the complete record considered during review.
The commitment continues throughout the active certification period and applies when relevant creative methods or working practices change.
The declaration should be read together with the Maker Verified Standard and the Certification Agreement applicable to the application.

Maker Verified certification applies to the certified creator and the disclosed creative process reviewed through the certification program. Maker Verified does not separately inspect, authenticate, appraise, certify, or guarantee each individual work, product, claim, sale, or transaction, and certification is not a warranty of artistic quality, originality, ownership, legality, value, or future compliance.
